Subhrangsu Mandal is an Associate Professor at the Deartment of Chemistry and
Biochemistry, University of Texas at Arlington. He rceived BSc (Honors), MSc
(first class first) and PhD in Chemistry from the Midnapore College, Kalyani
University, and Indian Institute of Science. After PhD, Dr. Mandal joined
the laboratory of Professor Reha-Krantz as an Alberta Heritage Foundation for
Medical Research (AHFMR) postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta,
Canada. He later moved to the laboratory of Professor Danny Reinberg, at the
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)/Howard Hughes Medical
Institute (HHMI), to research on eukaryotic transcription and gene regulation.
In 2005, he became an Assistant Professor in UTA. Dr. Mandal is an expert in
biochemistry of human gene regulation, epigenetics and disease. His current
research is aimed towards understanding the fundamentals of human gene
transcription, steroid hormone signaling, endocrine disruption and
their implications in cardiovascular diseases and cancer therapeutics. He has
published more than 60 publications in top international journals,
written invited reviews, written book chapters, edited books, have patent, and
presented seminars in various conferences around the world. Research from his
laboratory is featured on the cover page. Dr. Mandal's research is funded by
National Institute of Health, American Heart Association, Texas Advanced
Research Program and National Science Foundation.
